Last weekend, I worked the Reno Tahoe Open with these lovely ladies :)
As you can see, my dumb ass decided to let my hotter-than-fuck-in-the-summer-time thick black hair flow wild and crazy. After about an hour or two, I was miserable and trying to pin my hair up (unsuccessfully) with anything I could find.
My darling coworker, Erin, showed me how to make a hair tie out of a latex glove. I was apprehensive, thinking it wouldn't hold, but it was completely legit. It held my hair up tightly for hours. It also did not stick or pull my hair when I took it out. It was awesome!
Here's how it's done.
Grab yourself a powder-free latex glove.
Use your scissors (or shears, whatever you're carrying to work) to cut the bottom lip off the wrist of the glove.
Cut off any excess. You're left with a lovely, strong hair tie!
I don't know if any of you will be excited about this, but I think it's brilliant. I've done this 2-3 times in the last week that I learned it. I hope it comes in handy for you too!
I use latex gloves for a ton of stuff, like cleaning and gardening. Here are a couple other snazzy uses for latex gloves, and links for tutorials :)
Fill the glove with water and tie it off. Freeze it, and take the glove off. Float the freaky ice hand in some punch.
Make this dress out of latex gloves.
Make this latex glove lamp.
Use a permanent marker to make Spooky Skeleton Hands.
Make some weird balloon animals.
